| In 1985, Jack Spector converted an old paperback bookstore in Nanuet, NY into a comic/specialty shop called "The Paperback Exchange". This store quickly became the number one Comic Shop in Rockland County. This success was achieved by providing exceptional customer service, offering a full line of new comics and a deep inventory of back issues.
For the past 20 years, Roy Zyla has worked with Jack to fine tune product selection and develop a database system for collection/store management. In 2002 the name was officially changed to "ComicsWarehouse.com", and in 2003 Jack retired and Roy obtained ownership of the Nanuet store.
In 1997 with the onset of the internet – we moved our collections management database online. Since then we have continued to improve not only the speed and accuracy of our system, but the features we provide as well. Currently, we have over 46,000 different titles available and a back stock of over 500,000 comic books. We have partnered with ComicsInfo.com, in order to provide our customers with a web access point to their subscription (pull) lists, current Previews offerings, our deep inventory backlist, and the ability to manage their personal collections online. We anticipate our online shopping cart system to be fully functional by early 2005.
On October 16th of 2004 we celebrated the grand opening of our second comic shop in Cornwall, NY. As with our Nanuet store, Cornwall promises to offer the same exceptional customer service, access to all of our comics/back-issues, club discounts, and all of the perks of our online collections management system.
